Rooms 15 and 16 Assembly: Playground Friends and Learning Friends

In Rooms 15 and 16 we have been learning about the similarities and differences between playground friends and learning friends. We will be talking about these at our assembly tomorrow. Here are some of the accompanying images that will go with our presentation tomorrow.

We are all learning friends!

We look forward to hearing your feedback after our assembly.

Stepping Out in Uniform

In our last session with Constable Jude she talked to us about how to be safe when travelling in a car. First we sat in the police car to practise putting our seatbelt on. We learned some very important rules about being in a car.

  • Keep your arms, legs and head inside the car!
  • If you are under 7 years old you must be in a booster seat.
  • Always wear a seat belt.
  • Use quiet voices in the car so you don't distract the driver.

Later she put the sirens on. They were as loud as . . . .

And we got to dress up as police officers!

Swimming

Here we are after a lesson at the school pool last week.

When we arrive at the pool, first we hang up our towels.

Then we start our lessons. Here you can see all the fun things we are learning to do during our swimming lessons.

When our lesson is over we get our towels and walk back to the class.

Stepping Out Practice

Last week we went out onto Kelvin Road to practise road safety. First we practised safe walking on the footpath. We practised walking on the inside of the path and we checked for cars coming out of sneaky driveways. One car came out of a driveway as we practised! We could see the white lights, smell the smoke, and see the driver.

We also practised looking left and right before we crossed the road and while we crossed the road, to check for cars coming.

Thank you Constable Jude. We have learnt about road safety!
